Earthquakes, fires, and headaches

Image
Holy what a week. A lot happened. To start off with news years, I thought the US did it big for new years. Nope not one bit. It sounded like I was in a war zone all night. At midnight there were about 100 plus elders screaming and yelling on the field right behind the casa. I watched some of the craziest fireworks I've ever seen, we were all standing on the second counselors driveway, to think back to it there were so many other spots to watch fireworks at midnight in the ccm. Thats okay, he didn't yell at us.  I don't think ive ever had such bad headaches and the amount I have had here is not fun. There's been a few days when I bum around in the morning because my head hurts so bad. Friday was definitely one to remember, I woke up with a bad headache and as I was getting ready, there was an earthquake! I'm not gonna say i jinxed it but the day we got to the CCM i joked about how funny it would be if there was an earthquake, well there was one and to make it bette...

Boom boom piñata

Welp another week done in the ccm! I found out yesterday that we are halfway done with the ccm its crazy, I feel like i just barely got here yesterday.  My Spanish is still horrendous, just kidding not really. We have been learning so much everyday, my Spanish teacher said every day is like 3 weeks of learning outside of the mtc. Its so much Spanish everyday. I was actually able to understand sacrament meeting on sunday, unlike last week (that was the most confusing sacrament meeting of my life). Every Sunday people in the branch get randomly selected to speak in church, every week you get scared you have to speak in sacrament. Not only do you have to talk, but ONLY in Spanish. No bueno😐 Christmas!!!! Christmas here was something else, definitely a Christmas to remember. Christmas eve we had a devotional that was fun, every branch got to sing a Christmas song which was funny because every branch probably practiced once. At the end we all sang Feliz navidad which was so fun,...

My Spanish teacher says it's better to say que padre instead but it doesn't sound as cool. She won't teach us anymore slang sadly. This is my first email so bare with me, I got to the CCM on Thursday. After the flight I was insanely overwhelmed, I was put instantly into work. Being yelled at to help put suitcases in a bus in Spanish was so terrifying. I couldn't understand anything. After we got to the CCM we get everything set up which was nice, we got to our room and Elder Morrell broke our sink not even 2 hours after we got to our casa. I had a very interesting birthday, the first full day at the ccm I turned 19, my district calls me unc even though the hermanas are older than me. It was definitely a birthday to remember. Thanks everyone who told me happy birthday it was much appreciated.  Spanish is hard, I always thought missionaries just figured out the language and it clicks instantly. That's not at all what happens. It's a lot of studying and a lot of ...
