Boom boom piñata
Welp another week done in the ccm! I found out yesterday that we are halfway done with the ccm its crazy, I feel like i just barely got here yesterday.
My Spanish is still horrendous, just kidding not really. We have been learning so much everyday, my Spanish teacher said every day is like 3 weeks of learning outside of the mtc. Its so much Spanish everyday. I was actually able to understand sacrament meeting on sunday, unlike last week (that was the most confusing sacrament meeting of my life). Every Sunday people in the branch get randomly selected to speak in church, every week you get scared you have to speak in sacrament. Not only do you have to talk, but ONLY in Spanish. No bueno😐
Christmas!!!! Christmas here was something else, definitely a Christmas to remember. Christmas eve we had a devotional that was fun, every branch got to sing a Christmas song which was funny because every branch probably practiced once. At the end we all sang Feliz navidad which was so fun, the ccm presidency was dancing and everyone was going along with it. After the devotional there was a huge tie trade at a random casa, I learned there how goated I am at tue trading, I think Ive traded 4 or 5 ties and ive gotten at least 6 or 7.😌 Christmas day was great, we were able to call family then we got to hit piñatas, safe to say i know way too much about piñatas now. The mountain also caught on fire, pretty lit. (literally) At the end of the day we had a devotional and Elder Cook talked, it was so insane.
Other highlights:
We had a district therapy session, we all called each other out for things that upset us, I got called out for journaling too late lol.
Apparently Elder Morrel and I cant make any jokes anymore because we arent serious enough, we just want to have fun and crack jokes. I think it really helped contention to be eased in our district. (Side note we are serious when we need to be)
I had a migraine for two straight days, not very fun
We joined the choir! It's pretty great even though w
We actually got to the point where our schedules are mostly the same everyday which is nice to have a constant schedule.
The reason this email is called boom boom piñata is because along with being here we are told to try and use as much Spanish as possible, no one in our district knew how to say hit and for some reason nobody translated it. Therefore we got boom boom piñata or to hit the piñata.
I am making more and more friends while being here, its a miracle in itself (totally joking) its great though. Im able to be around so many people my age with the same mindset as me.
Spiritual thought:
With the passing of Elder Holland, I decided to look back at some of his talks that impacted me the most. One of the top ones being "an priest on high" or something close to that. Its not been all sunshine and rainbows here at the ccm, there's days like Christmas where it was a struggle all day being away from family. Yes I do miss my family a lot and my dog just as much. When I do feel sad about not being with my family I like to think about that talk, to not give up, there is joy in the road ahead. To add to that there are so many blessings of going on a mission, I cant believe there was a time that I was so sure about not going on one. Ive seen so many blessings being on a mission and I havent even seen outside of the CCM. Serving God is such a blessing in itself, he gave so much for us and the least we can do is give a sliver of our life dedicated to serving him.
Thats all for this week, I need to stop writing my email on the bus after the temple, it makes me just a little carsick.
Until next time adiós -Elder Loosle
Almost forgot again, after my mental crisis if having to put every individual email in last time I never gave the link to the photo album hopefully it works
